4 Management Tips to Boost Employee Productivity

Ensuring good productivity and efficiency of your team is an important part of being a good manager and keeping your organisation running smoothly. An extremely tough task to accomplish at times, it  may lead you to enforce a lot of rules and restrictions, but this isn’t always the right way as controlling your employees in such a way can affect their morale and negatively impact their productivity. Here are a few quick and easy tips from the Telkee key cabinets to ensure your employees are happy,  which in turn will improve productivity and efficiency quickly.

    • Make your employees feel valued – This may seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be amazed at the number of managers who don’t pay enough attention to doing this. Ask for your employees input when fine tuning work processes or for strategic planning, but make sure to act on it. There’s nothing worse than asking for their opinion and then not acting on it.

    • Recognise hard work and don’t hold back praise – Research has shown that praise and recognition is often a more powerful motivator than money. Don’t be emotionally stingy and make sure to praise your employees and always provide employees with the opportunity to own projects and credit them when a job is well done.

    • Support your employees – Standing by your employees is not something they will forget in a hurry. It builds employee goodwill and loyalty, while improving your relationship with your employees.  Support can take a number of different forms from providing emotional support when employees are being unfairly criticised, flex support to help them manage their work-life balance better or even helping them get more organised by providing updated office storage solutions like lockable cabinets to keep things organised and easy to find.

  • Provide adequate and regular training – Instead of enforcing leadership training continuously for management, it’s important to also focus on regular training for employees as well to help them improve their skills and stay abreast of new technology.
